Our lives will come at us in waves. Sometimes everything is fantastic, and we feel like we are on top of the world. Other times, our day-to-day routine feels mundane or tiring, and we don’t know what to do about it.
If we feel unhappy with our daily life, this is when it’s most important to make small changes and pick up new habits. However, making changes may seem like the hardest thing to do when we’re down. We may want to drag our feet or ignore our responsibilities, making us crawl deeper in a hole.
We should try our best to overcome the urge to do nothing. It may seem impossible at the time, but making small changes to our routine is what will turn us around when we’re not feeling great. These changes can be as small as calling a friend or waking up a bit earlier to go for a morning run. Once we let ourselves do something new and unexpected, we may be surprised to feel better in a few hours, or even within a few seconds.
