You Cannot Have a Positive Life and a Negative Mind – Joyce Meyer

Many people believe that their life is mostly controlled by outside forces. From winning the lottery to getting laid off at work…it may sometimes seem like we’re just along for the ride as our fate is decided by random events. But this couldn’t be further from the truth.

While events will occur that impact us in different ways, what will truly matter in our life is our reactions to these events. When hit with a tough situation, a person has the choice to react positively and with motivation, or negatively and with despair. And choosing to react one way or another definitely affects that person’s life further down the road.

Keeping this in mind can help our daily lives as well, even when nothing notable is happening. If our thoughts are negative all day, you can bet we will see the world as a gloomy, miserable place. But if we change our mindset, anything in the world is possible.

  1. I am starting to learn this! My biggest challenge is not letting other people determine my happiness

  2. I wholeheartedly agree. What you see is what you get. And since many people are highly visual, this could mean there are missing out on the positives in every situation. There is something good about every day, and it doesn’t have to be huge. It may be the small things that give our lives their positive edge. The heck with waiting for the other shoe to drop…unless of course it’s a red shoe. My favorite!!!
