Every Day Is a Blank Page and You Hold the Pen – Unknown

Each day is a blank page available to us to be filled with our thoughts, dreams, and actions.  A fresh opportunity, irrespective of yesterday, to work toward our personal growth and achievement.  How will you fill your page today?  Will you choose to write with the pen of love or the pen of fear?  Will you write of positive actions and experiences or procrastination and stagnation?  Will you infuse your words with gratitude and happiness or burden and sorrow?  Will you allow your fears to dictate and control your day’s activities or use the day’s activities to control your fears?  The choice is yours.

I understand that the circumstances we find ourselves surrounded by each day might not always be in our control, but what we do have control over is our mindset, our responses, and our actions toward those circumstances.

Today does NOT have to be the same as it was yesterday. Yesterday’s mistakes or last week’s failures, don’t truly control the strokes your pen makes today, only by choice is that so.  Today’s page is blank, and you hold the pen.  It’s yours to be crafted and created – how will you choose to write today?

  1. A good reminder! And I agree, but I also think that in order to have a blank page each day, you have to actively create that blank page. If not, I think we run the risk of adding lines to the same, old page 🙂

  2. This was a great reminder for a Monday morning. 🙂 I am posting this on my wall for a reminder every day.

  3. I love this wise saying,
‘Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, which is why it’s called the present.’
Loved this post – made me smile with my eyes …

  4. This is a wonderfully written seed! I love the message. Thank you so much for sharing!

  5. Thank you, I really needed this today.

  6. Thank you for this post! Sometimes I get caught up in the routine of things and forget to be aware of my thoughts.

  7. I like what you wrote. We have a lot of power to shape our lives. We are definitely not victims.

  8. A wonderful reminder! Thank you!!!

  9. Love!!!!! I just started a bullet journal that helps me stay organized and on track with all of my financial things and daily to-do lists and I’m so happy about it. Its what I needed so I don’t have multiple notebooks that get lost and it keeps me focused. Also started back up with adding gratitude to the daily posts as well to help me stay thankful, no matter what happens during the day. Such a great post today. <3 Always start fresh!

  10. Such an inspiring post! Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in everything that is going on in life…..too busy to remember that each day is a new day with endless possibilities!

  11. I notice that when I hit low points in my life, I journal a ton more, but when things are going great, I write to blog and share my positive experiences. It’s important to respect and accept the ups and downs in life, for they complete each other and are worth documenting in written, video, or audio form. One person’s struggles can be another person’s inspiration, which is why I think autobiographies of people who have gone through hell and back sell so well.

    • I completely agree Marlon, you never know what experience, or piece of something you read or hear or someone you meet that could be the key that sparks something within and unlocks that journey toward a better life, thanks for the comment!

  12. Makes me think of a wonderful small high school graduation I went to last year. Some of the students performed this song I LOVE! A perfect theme for their transition out in to the world

I hope it’s OK to put a song in my comment. I’m a new Seed enthusiast.

  13. This was a very timely reminder for me.

    Thanks for sharing!

  14. So very true. The most important thing is the mindset. We have to set our minds on positive thoughts to make positive actions. I always appreciate your posts and though I have been MIA for several days, I did miss reading them. So, back to the pleasure of receiving insight and encouragement. Have a blessed day!

  15. Shared – this is so true – a blank slate every moment for everyone

  16. An excellent post, thank you!

  17. I realise now that fear held me on the same page for a long time and now I’m writing new pages. Thanks for reminding me of the importance of making each new page count.

  18. I wholeheartedly agree with you! What a wonderful post. We must all remember that we are in control of how we allow things to affect us. We have to alter our perspectives on things. Even things that we perceive as negative can yield positive outcomes.

  19. @TheSeeds4Life I loved this post, very inspiring! Wrote my first blog post today and this has left me in such a positive creative mindset to write some top quality content in the near future. I hope you continue to enjoy my posts and thanks for the like!

  20. I so needed that today. Because sometimes you can drown in your thoughts. Nothing can be as bad as long as you face it! Thanks for the encouraging and thought provoking post!

  21. SO TRUE! Each day is a new opportunity and yesterday (good or bad) doesn’t have to play a role :). Thank you!

  22. This has given me some piece of mind. Thank you

  23. I believe in every word of this post – we are in control of our attitude towards life, even if we cannot control the situation. Thanks for sharing.
