Sometimes life can be overwhelming, especially when it seems like everything is such a long process. There are times when we think that something will be easy and then we realize that the activity will take a lot more effort than predicted. We may grow afraid that we will not be able to take that next step towards our goals.
The truth of the matter is, that once we take that first step and succeed, we’ve already proven to ourselves that we are strong enough to achieve our goals. There may be times when not everything goes as smoothly as planned and the next step seems frightening, but that does not mean that we won’t be able to face our fears head on and get done what needs to be done.
The word “next” implies that we’ve already done something, already achieved something. Taking another step means that you took one or even more steps already. In a way, this ensures that strength and confidence is already built-in – you just have to remind yourself of your past progress!
The next time you find that there’s another step to be made towards a goal, remind yourself of your previous success. If you were already able to take one step, you are able to take another. It may take practice and it may take time, but you will be able to succeed! If you find that you still have to take that first step, remember that everyone has to start somewhere and that once you start, you can continue on your journey to greatness.
