If We Had No Winter, the Spring Would Not Be So Pleasant: If We Did Not Sometimes Taste of Adversity, Prosperity Would Not Be So Welcome – Anne Bradstreet

Spring is here once again. The weather is warm, which usually elevates the mood of lots of people. This brings the question – would we enjoy the warmth and light of spring nearly as much if we hadn’t gone through a few months of cold winter?

We can compare the seasons on Earth to the seasons of our lives. Whether it has to do with finances, work, or relationships, we all go through ups and downs. So we all know it can be tough to enjoy the sunnier, warmer days when dealing with our own personal struggles.

However, the seasons have changed regularly for as long as the world has spun. And while we can’t control the weather, we do have control over our own lives and surroundings. If something is making us feel stuck in an eternal winter? Then it’s time to make a change, and hope spring will come sooner than later.

Then, when spring comes, the warmth will feel better than ever. Without going through adversity, we’d probably still love the warmth, but the effect would maybe not be as great.
