There are cheerleaders and there are rock throwers. There are people who will build you up and people who will try to knock you down. Which do you want to be? Do you want to fill your mind with positivity or suffocate it with negativity? The decision is yours.
Every morning, we have a choice. We can tell ourselves that we have the strength to get through the day or we can convince ourselves that we are weak and unable to succeed. The first choice allows us the possibility to have a good day while the other fills our minds with worry and self-doubt – two things that lead to sadness.
For some of us, thinking negative thoughts has become a pattern. Once a pattern is developed, it can be hard to break free of its hold. The way that we think on a daily basis becomes so expected and ‘normal,’ that it’s sometimes almost impossible to rescue ourselves from the dark corners that we, ourselves, created.
We need to start out small and take manageable steps into the light. We have to remind ourselves that we determine whether or not we have a good or bad day and whether we give into the good or bad thoughts that come into our minds. If you don’t want to be a slave to what tries to hold you back, fight for your freedom! Be the type of person who is kind to both yourself and others and who doesn’t allow negativity to get the best of you!
