Change is inevitable. Not one person can go through life without it. And change is really a good thing – I dare even say, it’s a good thing 100% of the time. Sometimes it might not seem like it at first, but if you give it some time, you’ll find that whatever that change put you through, you’ve come out of it whole, refreshed, and renewed. Change changes you for the better every single time.
But so many of us try to fight change, because change is scary; it forces us out of our comfort zone; and it makes us do things we need to do when we’re not ready at all (essentially, things we’ll never be ready for).
Like I said, though, change is inevitable. And this is why it’s not worth your energy to try to fight change, or to fight the old or the new. The only thing worthwhile spending energy on when change is at your door, is to work on whatever that change is bringing into your life. What can you do to make this new situation better? How can you benefit from the changes? What positive outcomes will all of it have on you and your life? How can you grow through it? And what things, situations, or people will you need to leave behind in order to move forward?
Focus on building the new, and to make it greater than you can imagine it – turn change into an advantage rather than a disadvantage. The quality of your life is dependent on how you react to what’s presented to you. So what new things will you build? How tall can you grow?
