Friendship is an extraordinary gift. In a world that can be cold and daunting, having good friends at your side can be the ray of sunshine that gets you through the day.
There are two different kinds of friends. There are those who will solely be there for you when things are going well in your life, and then there are the friends who will be by your side through thick and thin – through storms and sunshine.
When going through a difficult time in one’s life, one of the worst feelings is that of being alone. No one wants to feel as if they’re the only one going through something, as if they have no one standing by their side showing support. Oftentimes, having someone who will listen to your struggles and simply tell you that they are there for you, can make all the difference.
Though some days can seem dark and treacherous, there are days that will undoubtedly be full of happiness and excitement. There will be moments and events that take place in one’s life that will just scream to be shared. Friendship is not just beneficial in times of suffering, but is also important in times of great joy. Having someone to share your good news with can be an extremely fulfilling experience. However, even a life full of excitement and magic can seem empty without true friendship.
True friendship isn’t always easy to come by. In fact, sometimes it takes years to find someone who you can trust, depend on, and share a special bond with. However, if you keep an open heart and share your kindness with the world, you will find that meaningful relationships are just around the corner.
Through my journey of sharing my experiences with anxiety, I have met many individuals who have lent both friendship and support. I have found that I am not alone in my struggles. Additionally, I have seen so many selfless people who simply want to share their knowledge; want to help others. I really do believe that since I’ve met these amazing individuals, I’ve become a better person. I have seen the happiness and kindness that they bring into the world and I have become someone who strives to do the same.
Sometimes dealing with our own challenges in life blind us from the fact that there are others who need support and friendship. Please remember that if you are struggling, chances are that someone else is too. Please be kind and offer support during these difficult times.
