Worry Is a Waste of the Imagination – Dan Zadra

Books, movies, TV shows, and paintings – these are all forms of art. While many of us have the ability to be creative, we tend to waste our imagination on our fears. We allow ourselves to create problems and disasters before they even occur.

We can help others through sharing our experiences, entertain those around us with our stories, and add beauty to the world with our kindness. If we use our imagination in positive ways, we can make the world a better place. Our thought process should be used for thinking of ways to benefit our lives, not make them more difficult.

You may have heard the quote about worrying not solving anything. While this is true, it doesn’t always stop us from having destructive thoughts. Worrying is a natural thing that we all experience at one point or another. The key is not letting it control our lives.

The next time your imagination starts to wander, take note of what direction it’s heading in. If you don’t like where your thoughts are going, try to change them. Start using your imagination to create peace and beauty instead of anxiety and self-doubt.

About B.G.

Hi. I enjoy writing and sharing my experiences with others. For many years, I have struggled with anxiety and know how difficult it is to deal with something so seemingly limiting. My hobbies include: writing, reading, watching TV, and working hard to get through my anxiety. I hope that through my writing I can help others realize that they are not alone in their struggles and that they can overcome their obstacles! I currently have blogs at www.gettingthroughanxiety.wordpress.com and www.restinpieceblog.wordpress.com - In addition, I am the author of the fantasy-horror novel, Rest in Piece and short story collection, Abstract Clarity.

  1. Loved this. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

  2. I think we can avoid worrying by being in the present moment. Easier said than done though.

  3. Making use of ones creative abilities is an excellent way to keep one’s mind occupied and distracted. There so many things we can do as hobbies or creations. Even to which the sky during the day or nights can be so interesting – each day it offers so much of diversity. Yes worrying is not productive to the person who worry and others around. Making use of the time in ways of creations is the best way to lead a happy and life with value 🙂
