Alleged ‘Impossibilities’ Are Opportunities for Our Capacities to Be Stretched – Charles R. Swindoll

The word ‘impossible’ is usually not viewed positively. It conjures up images of obstacles too grand to overcome. When the word is used to describe a mission or goal, it makes the individual trying to achieve such tasks feel weak and helpless.

Believe it or not, the word ‘impossible’ does not have to be looked at negatively. Like any other challenge, it can be faced head-on. We can show ourselves that there is nothing we can’t do.

Often times the only reason it feels like we can’t reach our potential is because we don’t give ourselves the chance. We listen to our doubts instead of the voice that tells us we are strong, capable individuals, thereby shutting down any possibility for success. We need to try to fight the urge to give into our fears; giving less credence to words like ‘impossible’ and statements like ‘It can’t be done.’

Try to focus on the fact that, with hard work, you can make your dreams a reality. Don’t allow anything to stand in your way – not even the negative words of others.

  1. This is so true! I find at times when the ego part of me is being judgemental it is an opportunity to love it. Instead of resisting it which only makes it worse, it is easier to talk to that part of you and say it is possible and show your ego the way. Show your ego what possible looks like.

  2. I love this!! We all need this reminder because in today’s world there is so much negative it’s easy to get caught up in it!
