Champions Keep Playing Until They Get It Right – Billie Jean King

Sometimes, certain events in our lives make us give up on the things that were once important to us. We may keep getting rejected on the road to pursue our passion, or find out that we’re simply not very good at our passion. So we let nerves and insecurity get the best of us, and we settle for doing something less.

However, this is not what will eventually lead us to happiness and fulfillment. After all, if people only did what automatically makes them successful, the majority of people would do very little in their lives. Life is all about trying, failing, and getting up to try again.

If your passion is not helping you make a living, get a full-time job and pursue your dream in your free time. If you’re not good at your passion, keep doing it for fun – not only will you get better with practice, the worst-case scenario is that you’ll keep having fun. To put it simply, keep doing what fulfills you. Life is too short and unpredictable to do anything less.

  1. All my life – and all artists do – I have tried to communicate with my artwork – drawing, painting, poetry and novels – but have been only successful to a few readers and lovers of artistic work.
I consider that as a success, how small it appears to be in numbers and pecuniary result.
So, as it has become a way of life, fulfilling my artistic endevours, I will carry on as always.
