I Have Found That If You Love Life, Life Will Love You Back – Arthur Rubinstein

Life is truly a beautiful thing; full of beautiful places and beautiful people. Life affords us something great and rare – the opportunity to be ourselves and share our gifts and happiness with others. Still, there is the undeniable truth that life also comes with great hardships and challenges.

While some of us find ourselves constantly greeting each morning with excitement and warmth, others find it almost impossible to turn off that alarm clock and get out of bed. Whether it’s work, school, or everyday situations weighing us down, we can find it hard to face the world.

It makes sense that all we want to do at times is hide under the covers and hope that everything hard in our lives will just vanish. Sadly, though, that’s not how the world works. In order for us to make progress and to be able to live a life that we love, we must take the first steps to love the life we were given – struggles and all.

What I mean by this is not that we love the fact that we struggle, but rather that we love our life despite the fact that we struggle. Life is not beautiful because it’s perfect or because there are no times of difficulty, but rather because it is full of beauty even in the midst of darkness and ugliness. So next time you’re having a bad day and question the glory of life, remember all of the good times that you’ve experienced, fabulous people you’ve met, and worthwhile things you and others have contributed to the world around you!

About B.G.

Hi. I enjoy writing and sharing my experiences with others. For many years, I have struggled with anxiety and know how difficult it is to deal with something so seemingly limiting. My hobbies include: writing, reading, watching TV, and working hard to get through my anxiety. I hope that through my writing I can help others realize that they are not alone in their struggles and that they can overcome their obstacles! I currently have blogs at www.gettingthroughanxiety.wordpress.com and www.restinpieceblog.wordpress.com - In addition, I am the author of the fantasy-horror novel, Rest in Piece and short story collection, Abstract Clarity.

  1. Nicely said. I find that I have more power than my default thinking would indicate. I am the creator of my state of mind, irrespective of how much I plead that I’m a victim. There’s 100% free will in every situation, I simply hesitate to leverage that power for fear of the consequences – not recognizing there are still consequences for my inaction. Like it or not, I am presented with a choice each day – each minute even – to approach life with a charitable assumption or to assume a defensive posture. When life’s not going my way, I’ve learned to check my own stance first, and it has made me a much more peaceful man.
