The Real Winners in Life Are the People Who Look at Every Situation With an Expectation That They Can Make It Work or Make It Better – Barbara Pletcher

There will always be those moments in life that will bring us down and make us feel like we’re going nowhere or that we have no clue of what we’re doing here. We all go through these moments, and sometimes I wonder if they’re not part of life, even.

But there’s a choice we have when we are faced with challenges that stop us right in our track. There’s a choice for you to make when you feel like you’ve had enough. And that choice is whether you’re going to just sit there and take a battering, or whether you will stand back up and look at what’s going on and decide to fix it or change it.

The real winners are the ones who look at the situation they’ve ended up in, acknowledge that they might want to be somewhere else or do something different, and then manage to find a way to do exactly that. These winners in life know that they can make a situation work in one way or another, or that they might even be able to change it around completely. These winners are the ones that try, step by step. And no matter how hard it is, they keep pushing forward with all their might.

The truth is that as long as you believe it, you have the power to make something work or completely change it. We all have that power within us, we just need to allow it to come out.

  1. Johanna, this is an excellent post! I have a real admiration for people who refuse to be victims, but instead, decide to “take the bull by the horns” and design their lives with intention. Thanks for your meaningful words! ~ Lynn

  2. I figure if I got myself into the situation [and I’m picky], I can get myself out of the situation. The initial route might not be the eventual exit, and timing may come into play, but it’s doable. Taking responsibility for being there in the first place is one of the first steps to getting out. Did I mention it’s doable?!

There’s always more than one way to skin a catfish. My mother preached this, and I’ve found believe in this saying to have merit time and time again…especially before I was picky!!!
