No one likes to make mistakes or find themselves regretting their actions. While many of us know that learning from our errors can be beneficial, that doesn’t mean that we’re happy when they take place. Simply put, no one is perfect. There will be times when we all do things that we wish we could take back.
We need to forgive ourselves for not being perfect. While not being able to obtain perfection should never be an excuse for not trying our hardest, accepting our humanity often helps us focus on what’s truly important: getting up when we fall and continuing on towards success.
There is nothing wrong with getting upset with ourselves when we don’t achieve our goals. In fact, sometimes we need to get a little angry in order to push ourselves. Being too hard on ourselves, however, can discourage us from having faith in overcoming our obstacles – which is the last thing we can afford.
The next time you make a mistake or wish you had made a better choice, remember that you will have other opportunities to do what’s right. There will be other chances for you to face your fears and stand up to your obstacles. Don’t lose hope in yourself.
