How do you define the events of your past?
What about your future? Are you anticipating yours with excitement or with fear?
How we interpret the events of our past can have a tremendous impact, not only on our present moments, but also our future. Do you look back at your past with regret or with a warmhearted remembrance? Even if your past was filled with sorrow and failure, you still have a choice in how you interpret it. Try your best to see yours through a lens of acceptance and acknowledgment. View your failures and mistakes as learning experiences. See them solely as a discovery of information that you can use to grow. On the road to success, learning what not to do, can be just as important as learning what you must do. Learn, adjust, and grow.
Your thoughts are powerful, and what you think about will affect what you attract into your life. Constantly go around thinking negative thoughts about yourself, or stuck in a state of regret about the mistakes of the past, and you will only succeed in attracting more of the same into your future.
And remember, failure doesn’t make YOU a failure. Don’t make the mistake of tying your entire self-worth or happiness to whether you succeed or fail at something. There is so much more to life than the result of any one event.
Are you thinking in a way that will allow your future self to cultivate what you want? Decide once and for all that you are going to move past your past, carry with you an attitude of gratitude for the lessons it taught you, and be positively expectant for your future.
