You May Not Control All the Events That Happen to You, but You Can Decide Not to Be Reduced by Them – Maya Angelou

Most people hope to live an enjoyable, peaceful life with major ups and only minor downs. However, every one of us must face some kind of hardship at some point, whether big or small. And while we can’t control many hardships that occur in life, we have full control of how we react to them.

Think about the people you know. Some have faced an excruciating amount of misfortune throughout their lives, and yet they are the happiest people in a ten-mile radius. On the other hand, there are people who have faced a lot of luck in their lives with only minor bumps in the road, and they feel eternally bummed about the little things that did not go their way.

The reason why these people are so different is because they have made decisions to react differently to their lives. Do not let the misfortune in your life play the most important role on your journey. There’s still beauty to see and fun to be had.
